Bonvair Colour Schemes

The colours of the Bonvair are limited; their resources and time spent for such things are limited and considered a frivolity that can wait until the tribe has secured its position in the dangerous Tautha lands. Shades of black are predominant, as both a readily availble dye from the ink-spraying sea creatures that inhabit the coast, and as a match to the bleak terrain and raiding activities of the tribes maidens.

The island the Bonvair inhabit is spare of foliage. Instead rocks and boulders cover almost every surface leaving little open ground for the planting of crops and only hardy plants and grasses grow through the cracks and gaps of this otherwise solid and grey land. Fogbanks and the mist created from the sea crashing against the western cliffs further erode light from the life of the tribe and their dress has changed to match the surroundings for camoflauge and also depressingly psychological purposes. Death is near, from the land or from a banshee's blade and no time is wasted changing into the colours of mourning.

The garter provides the only opportunity for the display of colour and wealth to the maiden. The garter straps clamps that hold up the stockings are metal and can be laid with intricate designs individual to the maiden - who etches them in herself. Those dames who managed to take some gold with them when the tribe fled the eastern spur melted them down and laid them on their garter to mark who they were and position. Wealth however isn't a precondition to rank in a Bonvair warband; rank is gained purely through talent and experience alone.

Models

Because Bonvair dress is very similar to those of the Tautha; stockings and garter, Tautha models can also be used to design your own Bonvair fashion in addition to the Bonvair models which have the inclusion of the miniskirt.
