Damsel Book Two - Wicked Weapons

The Dhrow mistresses of the Unseelie do not fight each other to kill but to capture and torture; over as long a period as possible. Those lower in the pecking order: the Haeg and Dallag are fair game to the Whites and suffer endlessly. In battle the Unseelie use all manner of items and weapons that may not be very practical on a real battlefield on a Meadow of Glamour but their barbed and poisoned weapons, nets and rakes, whips, thongs and chains are perfectly suited to fights where the desire is inflicting and receiving pain, to bondage and humiliate. Even more variety comes from the varying Slaugh or factions that struggle to become the White Slaugh and one of their Heroines the all powerful White Witch. For example the Darachul's long pearly incisors drip narcotic and other venom, whilst Dominas have become so used to punishing themselves that they eagerly seek it out in the heat of combat.

Deliberation & Subjigation

The following are rules for how Unseelie Stands and Heroines fight each other, they do not apply to Unseelie in battle against any other foe.

When Dhrow Stands or Dhrow Heroines fight each other, or any Stand except a Monster attacks a Stand that uses Dhrow rules, that Stand tries to bondage the Dhrow(s) instead of killing them and uses one of the combat methods below:

  • Subjugation: The attackers use whips, nets, forks, poisons or their own bodies to stop the Dhrow from moving. Each successful Hit in a won combat reduced the target's M by 1. When the target's M is 0 and a Stand is in contact with it, it is captured. If the target is not in contact or wasn't shot at in the Shooting Phase, on a D6 roll of 4+ it regains 1 point of M; if a friendly Stand is in contact the chance becomes 3+. Hits do not cause Push Back moving the target, but Follow Up rolls can be made.
  • Deliberation: The attackers use cuts, poisons and exhaustion to wear the Dhrow down so they become weakened and cannot fight back as well. Each successful Hit in a won combat reduces the target's A by 1 and then D by 1 in succession permanently; for example, 3 Hits would cause A -2 and D -1. When the target's A value has been reduced to 0, Hits are applied H as normal combat. The target's D value cannot go below 1.

Example of Subjugation: Two Stands of Dhrow Maidens (M5 A4 D3) are trying to subjugate each other. The Domina Stand gets 2 hits against the White Stand and only suffers 1 in return, winning by 1 which reduced the White Stand's M to 4 (M5 - 1 = 4). The Domina are sucessful in the follow up further reducing M to 3.

Example of Deliberation: The same two Stands are trying instead to beat the other one down into submission. The Domina's again cause two hits and suffer none in return. This causes the White's A to drop to 3 and D to 2 - making them very easy to hit. Next melee phase the Domina's strike with 4 hits and take only one, reducing the White's profile to A1 and D1.

Whips, manacles and more...

This Unseelie Witch holds short but sharp stiletto blades between her fingers called Shiver Knives because they are run down the skin slowly when the Witch and her victim are in close embrace.

Shiver Knives: Enemy Stand in melee suffers D-1. P5

Whilst this Witch only has one arm covered with silky silver webs, many Dhrow and Haeg wrap themselves in the thread that sticks their foes to their body.

Binding Webs: Stand or Heroine can re-roll failed Follow-Up rolls with 4+ chance to succeed. P10/5 (Unit/Heroine).

The Heroine at the top of the article has heavy manacles hanging from her wrists, leathal as she flays her arms about before lacerating her foe with ten razor sharp finger nails, inked with foul concoctions.

Lacerating Nails: Stand re-rolls failed hits against targets with D3 or less. P10

Manacles: Stand suffers a penalty of 1 to resist Dominate spells or the caster gets a benefit of one to succeed in casting. P5.

If one looks closely they can see two lines of blood running down her backside, the obvious mark of one of the Bitten.

Bitten: Before the first turn of the battle roll a D6 for each Bitten Unit or Heroine. Their profile changes as below:

1-2: M+1
3: A+1
4: D+1
5-6: D+0/+1

Salinex holds complete sway over her slave with just her gaze and the touch of her long tongue. The slave wears typical Unseelie garb: strips of Dallag skin studded with metal or holes.

Whip: In the Shooting Phase a Stand armed with a Whip can attack a Stand up to standard base depth away with A1. If a hit is scored, the Stand is dragged into combat and will in melee that turn. P5.
