Aryiki
Aryiki is a fantasy miniature wargame where players command armies of female warriors,
mythic and fantasy beasts. With Heroines, Princesses, Damsels, Fair Maidens, black
Witches, Enchantresses and Sorceresses leading their warriors into battle or engaging
in duels of might and magic. Aryiki aims to recreate the swirling melee of hand
to hand combat where battle lines quickly turn into a mass of combats and where glamourous
Heroines can achieve great fame and glory.
Aryiki Background
A tactical wargame system, Aryiki begins when the fighting sides have moved close
enough to each other to prepare for the final charge. The Damsels make their final
preparations, fire missiles and then draw swords or ready spears, shout their War
Cry and then rush at the enemy.
The difference with Aryiki and other Heroic scale tactical systems
is that instead of units contacting each other and keeping straight lines with casualties
removed from the back rows, Aryiki aims to recreate melees as lines break apart
and both units become mixed with fighters from both sides. The battle then becomes
more dynamic as warioresses push their way deep into the enemy line, with the possibility
of breaking through or being cut off from their sisters.
To add larger than life flavour each side has Heroines, powerful Damsels or Sorceresses
who provide fighting and morale support to units and fight duels with enemy Heroines.
Strong and confident, a Heroine can make whole enemy units back away in fear but do
not let them stray to far from support or they may be killed or captured, demoralising
your own side.
